Purpose: Sylvania STEM Center / Sylvan Robotics is committed to providing a work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Scope: This policy applies to all employees, including full-time, part-time, temporary, and contract workers, as well as applicants for employment.


Policy:


1.    Equal Employment Opportunity: Sylvania STEM Center / Sylvan Robotics provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or any other status protected by applicable law.


2.    Non-Discrimination: Sylvania STEM Center / Sylvan Robotics prohibits discrimination against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or any other status protected by applicable law. This prohibition applies to all aspects of employment, including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, compensation, benefits, and termination.


3.    Harassment: Sylvania STEM Center / Sylvan Robotics prohibits harassment of any kind, including but not limited to, harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or any other status protected by applicable law. Harassment can take many forms, including verbal, physical, and visual harassment, and is prohibited both in the workplace and at company-sponsored events or activities.


4.    Reporting and Complaint Procedure: Employees who believe they have been subjected to discrimination or harassment, or who have witnessed such behavior, are encouraged to report the matter to their supervisor, manager, or any other designated individual or department. Sylvania STEM Center / Sylvan Robotics will promptly and thoroughly investigate all complaints of discrimination or harassment and take appropriate action, up to and including termination of employment, against any individual found to have violated this policy.


5.    Retaliation: Sylvania STEM Center / Sylvan Robotics prohibits retaliation against any employee who reports discrimination or harassment, participates in an investigation of such reports, or opposes discriminatory practices. Retaliation in any form is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


6.    Compliance: Sylvania STEM Center / Sylvan Robotics is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations regarding equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination. This policy is intended to be consistent with such laws and regulations and to be interpreted in a manner that is consistent with them.


Policy Administration: The Executive Director is responsible for the administration and enforcement of this policy. Any questions about this policy or requests for further information should be directed to the Executive Director.


Review and Updates: This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as necessary to ensure continued compliance with applicable laws and regulations and alignment with the Sylvania STEM Center's business needs and objectives.
